As the Dragon Warrior and the Onna-musha ruled together, it became inevitable that they had a child together, known as the Wolf Prince. Now, the Prince’s parents were both capable of both great blessing and great disaster, and though they mostly balance each other, sometimes their disputes grow out of control, threatening the crops of the common folk with flood and wildfire. In these moments, the Wolf Prince takes up his hunting knife and does battle on behalf of the peasantry, bringing the two holy warriors to heel. Thus, the Wolf is praised among the commoners, as the protector of the fields, and Festivals in his honor are celebrated around the Harvest Moon.
