American Tackle RingLock Heavy-Duty Tip-Tops are stainless steel rod-building tops designed for heavy freshwater, inshore, and offshore builds. The RingLock frame uses a pressure fit, an enlarged glue reservoir, increased contact area around the ceramic ring, and added bracing to help reduce ring failure and ring popping from lateral torque. The design is covered by US Patent No. D627,032.
The ATLAS 316SS™ frames are made of 316 stainless steel. Choose a Nanolite™ ring, designed for maximum hardness and reduced weight without sacrificing strength, or a Duralite™ ring, a proprietary high-grade aluminum oxide material designed to reduce material volume and weight while providing higher compression strength. Both ring materials are described as suitable for modern braided lines and super lines.
