The APOC Barrens Pack Axe is a mid-size axe built for larger cutting tasks while remaining nimble for smaller work. Its handle is long enough for two-handed use, and its Molle compatible sheath supports carrying it inside or outside a pack. The axe weighs 1 lbs 15 oz.
The hatchet is milled from a single piece of 9260 spring steel and tempered to the low 50's HRC. Solid milled G10 handle scales are contoured for comfort, with a swell at the end to help keep the axe in hand.
Its Viking-style bearded head supports choking up for making feather sticks, preparing tinder and carving trap notches, and can also be used as an ulu-style knife for food preparation. Use it for felling, fire preparation or quick shelter assembly. The flattened poll can drive stakes without splitting their ends or smash through ice.
