This is the 9mm 18 Gauge Black Stainless Steel Flat Ring Round Riveted Chainmail Armpit Voider LARP. Chainmail is among the most versatile forms of armor, providing stab and slash protection whilenot inhibiting range of motion compared to plate armor. This armpit voider is used to protect the open and vulnerable areas such as under the arms and the sides of the body where sometimes plate armor can have openings.
This voider is meant to be sewn onto a gambeson, then plate armor worn over it as a way to help overcome the weaknesses in plate armor. Voiders are also preferred to protect specific areas of the body without having to wear a full suit of chainmail and bearing more weight. This item is not rated for functional use and should be used for display and costume or stage prop purposes only. Item comes covered in oil to protect from oxidation.
