This handmade Medieval Gears Type I (1) gambeson is a black reproduction in a period-correct 14th-century style. It is made of cotton with a wool felt lining, and is available in Small, Medium, and Large.
Its heavy-duty construction has three layers of cotton batting. The description notes natural fibers in the outer shell and lining. Four period-style straps with brass buckles fasten the front. The arms are hinged at the shoulder yoke, leaving the armpits open for ventilation and reducing pull on the arms when swinging a weapon.
The sleeves are removable, so the gambeson can be worn sleeveless, with short sleeves, or with full sleeves. Its flexible construction allows freedom of movement. It is suited to collectors, LARP, reenactment, and medieval enthusiasts. The mannequin and arming cap are sold separately. As a handmade item, sizing may vary slightly from piece to piece; use the last image as a size reference.
