The Cold Steel Emperor Series Katana is a Japanese-style sword with a fully sharpened 1060 carbon steel blade, heat-treated to a tough spring temper and hand-finished with mirror polish applied to the fuller.
The blade is 29 1/2″ long and 9/32″ thick. The handle is 11 1/4″, and the sword is 40 3/4″ overall; weight is 41.4 oz. The handle features samé (ray skin), black braid cord, and brass menuki. The supplier description also identifies the traditional wrapping as black silk cord.
The Tsuba (guard), Fuchi (collar), Kashira (pommel), and hand-made Habaki (blade collar) are nickel-silver. A black lacquered wood scabbard is included.
