This custom-made Damascus steel Rattler Bowie hunting knife has a full tang stag horn handle, brass guard and brass pins. Its 16" overall length includes an 11" blade and 5" handle.
The blade is made from a billet of 15N20 and 1095 high carbon tool steels, forge-welded and folded multiple times to create its layered pattern. The Damascus steel has a hardness of 55-60 HRC on the Rockwell scale. The combination of hard and soft steel creates flexibility, toughness and invisible serrations that aid cutting; acid treatment highlights the layers.
The spine is file worked. A genuine leather sheath with a belt loop on one end is included.
