This custom made Damascus steel hunting knife combines traditional craftsmanship with practical outdoor use. The blade is made from Damascus steel created by forge welding multiple layers of 15N20 and 1095 high carbon tool steels into a solid billet.
The billet is folded and re-welded several times to produce layered patterns. When acid is added to the blade, it highlights the attractive layered pattern by reacting differently with the hard and soft steels. This layered construction creates blade flexibility, toughness, and invisible serrations that aid cutting. The Damascus steel hardness is 55-60 HRC on the Rockwell scale.
The handle is made from walnut wood and camel bone, with three brass spacers that separate the bone and wood sections. It also includes a brass guard for added structure and a genuine leather sheath with a belt loop on one end.
