The Medieval Gears Ecru Medium Size Gambeson Type IV Medieval Padded Armour Coat is a period-correct 14th century style gambeson made from high quality, handmade, thick cotton.
It is ecru (off white) and durable on its own, designed not to tear under stress or under armour. The construction uses three layers of cotton batting, with a cotton outer shell and lining that help make it exceptionally breathable. Material: cotton with wool felt lining.
This gambeson fastens at the front with four period-style straps and brass buckles. The arms are hinged at the yoke of the shoulders rather than fully sewn to the torso, leaving the armpits open for greater ventilation and no pull when swinging a weapon. It also offers very flexible construction for freer movement.
