This handmade 14th Century Type III medieval gambeson is an Ecru (off white) padded arming jacket in Small. It is a period-correct reproduction for SCA, LARP and reenactment.
Made of high-quality, thick, heavy-duty cotton, its construction is padded with three layers of cotton batting. The listed material is heavy-duty cotton with 3 layers of wool felt lining. It has a tall collar, a short laced-up neckline and a long cut that falls to the knees. The arms are hinged at the shoulder yoke rather than fully sewn to the torso, leaving the armpits open for ventilation and avoiding pull on the arm when swinging a weapon. Its flexible construction allows free movement without causing armour to pull up.
