Harness the same shimmer that triggers instinct. The Flex Coat Iridescent Finish System suspends precision-cut glitter crystals in our trusted clear, high-strength epoxy to mimic the natural prismatic flash of baitfish. Inspired by the iridocyte crystal cells found in fish skin, this finish refracts light just like the real thing—grabbing attention from predators and fishers alike.
Whether you’re finishing custom lures or tying epoxy flies, this USA-made system gives you a durable, eye-catching edge that turns heads and gets strikes. Built for makers. Proven on the water.
Kit Contents 1 tube of multi-color iridescent glitter Flex Coat rod finish (2-oz. or 4-oz.) 2 color coded syringes 5 finishing brushes 5 mixing cups 5 mixing sticks Flex Coat Glitter Finish Application Instructions Mixing Instructions: Mix Flex Coat Finish according to the standard instructions. Stir until the mixture turns clear (no visible marbling or streaks). Important: Do not add glitter until the epoxy is fully mixed. Application Methods: Method 1: One-Step Glitter Epoxy Pour the fully mixed, clear epoxy onto a flat, foil-covered surface. Add a small amount of glitter to the epoxy. Gently stir the glitter into the epoxy. Avoid vigorous stirring to minimize bubbles. Add more glitter as needed to achieve the desired level of sparkle. Using a brush, apply the glitter-infused epoxy to your lure or fly. Rotate the lure or fly to ensure an even coating and allow it to cure. ✔ Advantage: Quick, one-step process with consistent glitter distribution.
Method 2: Layered Glitter Placement Brush a thin coat of clear epoxy (no glitter) onto the lure or fly. Let it rotate for about 1 hour to allow the finish to thicken. This helps prevent glitter from shifting or settling. Sprinkle glitter onto specific areas where you want added flash or color. Immediately apply a second coat of clear epoxy over the glittered surface. Brush in one consistent direction. Rotate the lure or fly to ensure even coverage and proper curing. ✔ Advantage: Greater control over glitter placement and color blending for lifelike effects.
Final Cure: Rotate the lure or fly for 3–4 hours. Allow to fully cure for at least 8 hours to achieve a flexible, durable, and iridescent finish.
