This handmade Norman long sword features a classic, simple cross guard and a hand-and-a-half grip. Its unsharpened carbon-steel blade has one groove extending about 24 inches from the guard. The sword is brand new and is not meant for actual cutting or sparring.
Overall length is 39.5 inches; blade length is 32.25 inches. Grip length is 5.375 inches excluding the pommel and 7.125 inches including it. The sword weighs 3.35 lbs, with a point of balance 6.25 inches and a point of percussion 21 inches from the guard.
The steel cross guard is 7.5 inches wide and tapers slightly toward the ends. The grip has a wood core, tightly wrapped and sewn leather, and steel fittings. Its large steel pommel serves as a counterweight. The tang is cold peened and polished flush with the pommel. As a handmade item, specifications may vary slightly from piece to piece.
