This Viking Gjermundbu-style helmet is patterned after a design found in Gjermundbu, Norway, and recreated with slight modifications. Its rounded crown has horizontal and transverse metal reinforcements secured with rivets, plus a pointed spike at the top. A face guard covers the eyes and nose.
Made of polished 16-gauge steel, the helmet has an attached butted chainmail aventail with 9mm-size rings for coverage around the neck, sides, and lower face. It includes a genuine leather lining, an adjustable leather liner, and a leather chin strap with a metal buckle.
