This handmade practical samurai katana sword is a commemorative piece inspired by Oda Nobunaga and the Period of the Warring States. It is part of the Daimyo Katana Sword Series.
It measures 41.25" overall and features a sharpened 27.75" blade made from high carbon steel. The handle length is 10.5", and the sword has blackened steel fittings, a full tang construction, and an O-Kissake. A Bo-Hi is added to the top of the blade to even out the weight and provide audible feedback.
The saya is wooden with a black glossy finish, black cotton sageo, a wooden kurigata with golden shitodome, and a hardened koi-guchi. The tsuba is blackened copper with a scene of two Bushi fighting Nobunaga in a river, and Oda Nobunaga with his sword on the reverse side. The habaki is one piece antiqued copper, the seppa are bright brass, and the tsuka is white ray skin wrapped with black cotton. The menuki are oxidized copper dragons, and two bamboo mekugi secure the blade in the tsuka.
Please note that the sword does not come with the sword bag or sword stand shown in the photos.
