The Koi Wakizashi by Paul Chen / CAS Hanwei is a samurai short sword with a hand-forged high-carbon steel blade and traditional construction.
Its blade is differentially hardened using the traditional claying method. The wakizashi is mounted in black and white, with black same, premium white Japanese cotton tsuka-ito, a deep black lacquer saya, and a black and white striped cotton sageo. A finely rendered Koi with true front-and-back detail forms the black iron tsuba, and the fittings are superbly antiqued.
Included with the sword are a protective cloth bag and a traditional maintenance kit. It is also part of a matching set, with the Koi Katana available separately to complete the collection.
