The Aventail (neck cover) provides protection of neck, shoulders, sides, and back of wearer's head. The chain mail is made of 16 gauge round wire steel rings. Each individual ring measures about 0.39"/10mm in diameter. Item comes covered in oil to protect from oxidation.
