This Munetoshi shield is a reproduction of an early English Royal Coat of Arms used during the 14th century. It features three passant guardant lions, four fleur-de-lis and a lion head at the center. The three lions represent England, Normandy and Aquitaine; the fleur-de-lis represent England’s claim to the throne of France. The fleur-de-lis remained on England’s royal coat of arms until George III.
The shield is stainless steel and measures 17.25 inches wide by 24.75 inches long. Its white and black painted background has an aged finish with golden veins. Solid golden steel coat-of-arms details are secured with steel rivets, and the shield has solid steel fittings, double-reinforced steel and triple-reinforced corners.
For display, it includes a steel chain and wall display hanging chains. An adjustable sword mount lets you display most sizes of swords behind the shield. Condition: brand new.
