The Moshiro Honmono Sengoku Warrior Katana is a functional Japanese sword with a hand-crafted 1045 high carbon steel blade. Pro sword smiths heat treat the blade using a proprietary process intended to balance steel toughness and hardness. The blade is sharpened and honed at a 15 degree angle, with a weight-reducing blood groove running its full length. Its thickness is 8mm, and its sharp Kisaki and Yokote are described as slicing through bamboo mats “like butter.”
The handle is made of sturdy hardwood, wrapped in genuine Ray skin and black Ito wrap. Dual bamboo pegs secure the full tang to the handle. A hardwood Saya and cloth sword bag are included.
