The Musashi Handmade Shirasaya Tanto is a traditional samurai short sword with a Shirasaya Hira-Zukuri style and authentic construction throughout. It includes a Certificate of Authenticity, Jade Tassel, Gift Box, and Sword Bag.
The blade is made from High Carbon steel in a Maru Lamination and features a Hira-Zukuri design for a flat, traditional Tanto profile. The blade is very sharp and brand new. Overall length is 14.5", with a 9.5" blade, 1.75" Kissake length, 5" Tsuka length, and 0.43 KG weight.
The Saya is hard wood with a brown piano lacquer finish, bright copper Kurikata, dragon mother of pearl inlay on each side, and a bull horn Koiguchi. The Tsuka is black lacquered wood in Shirasaya style, with a one piece copper Habaki, bull horn Fuchi, and dark brown mother of pearl surrounding the Mekugi. A brown tassel with loop is included, and an Ochre jade lion hangs from its center.
