This handmade samurai katana features a sharp carbon steel blade with a full length bohi, wire-brushed hamon, and chu kissaki. It is designed as a good sword for the beginning martial artist.
The sword measures 39.75" overall, with a 28.5" blade and 10.75" tsuka. The blade is carbon steel, the tsuka has a faux ray skin samegawa wrap with black cotton ito, and the handle is double pegged with bamboo.
The saya is wooden with a black gloss finish, carved with a bamboo motif, then painted green and lacquered. It also includes a black cotton sageo and gold shitodome. The tsuba is alloy metal in a bamboo motif, and the fuchi, kashira, and dragon menuki are alloy. Sword stand sold separated.
