During the pre-spawn and early spring transition, slow rolling a spinnerbait around baitfish can be a deadly way to trigger aggressive reaction strikes from staging bass. As fish group up near secondary points, channel swings, and shallow cover close to spawning areas, matching the size and movement of the bait they are feeding on becomes critical. The power and versatility of the MB873 make it an excellent choice for presenting spinnerbaits around wood, emerging vegetation, and mid depth structure. Its medium heavy backbone provides the strength to control big fish in cover, while still offering the responsiveness needed to feel blades turning and react instantly to a strike, making it a dependable rod kit for capitalizing on the spring feed.
