The guard material is designed to be flexible enough to move in different directions during the fall without interfering with the hook set, while also helping reduce snagging and bait loss. After catching a fish, the guard can be reshaped to restore its intended position. The hook is designed for power spinning and baitcasting tackle using line of 4 lb or heavier.
