The SJ842 is a smallmouth spinning rod kit designed for shaky-head fishing. The technique's natural, subtle action can entice finicky or pressured smallmouth, and the versatile setup suits conditions from rocky bottoms to brush piles. A stand-up bait presentation keeps the bait in the strike zone longer.
Specifications: 7'0" | 6-12 lb. | 1/8 - 1/2 oz. | Fast Action | Medium-Light Power. Fast action gives the angler control over jig-head movement, while medium-light power provides control over the fish.
Each kit part is designed by Bob McKamey, drawing on input from top pros and his 50 years of rod-building knowledge. The kit details include handle length, reel seat, guides, and suggested guide spacing.
Available variants: Slate, White, Metallic Black Pearl, Metallic Blue, Metallic Copper, Metallic Green, Metallic Gunsmoke, Metallic Light Blue, Metallic Lime Green, Metallic Pink, Metallic Purple, and Metallic Red.
