The Synthetic Basket Hilt Sparring Sword - White Blade by Red Dragon Armoury is a synthetic training sword designed and tested with the English Martial Arts Academy.
It features a White Blade, Black Guard, Black Handle, and Black Basket Hilt Pommel. The blade is the standard Rawlings Xtreme Single Hand Blade and is compatible with all Rawlings Single Hand Sword fittings.
The blade flexes in the last one-third of its length toward the tip for safer thrusting, while the handle is reinforced by a high tensile steel rod running the full length of the handle to reduce flex. The grips are made from a rubber-like thermoplastic elastomer for impact absorption and a secure fit.
This synthetic-bladed sword is suited to backsword practitioners, training techniques from George Silver and the Highland Broadsword manuals, and can also be used for theatrical performance.
