This hand-made custom Damascus hunting knife is a skinner with a gut hook at the top of the blade. Its Damascus steel is made by forge-welding layers of 15N20 and 1095 high-carbon tool steels into a billet, then folding and re-welding it several times. Steel manipulation creates the pattern, which acid highlights by revealing the layers of hard and soft steels.
The layered steel combination creates blade flexibility and toughness, and produces invisible serrations that aid cutting. The Damascus steel has a hardness of 55–60 HRC on the Rockwell scale.
The handle is made of pakka-wood, with a brass spacer in the middle and four brass pins spanning the handle. A genuine leather sheath with a belt loop on one end is included. Must be 18 years old to buy this product.
