This XL Size Black & White 14th Century Medieval Type I Style Gambeson from Medieval Gears is a handmade, authentic reproduction with period-correct styling.
It is built with heavy duty construction and padded with three layers of cotton batting. The natural fibers of the outer shell and lining help make it exceptionally breathable, and the material is cotton with wool felt lining.
The front fastens with four period-style straps and brass buckles. The arms are hinged at the yoke of the shoulders rather than fully sewn to the torso, leaving the armpits open for greater ventilation and no pull when swinging a weapon. It has removable sleeves and can be worn as a sleeveless, short sleeve, or full sleeve gambeson.
